Roleplay with Dani and Myself.
In the darkness there was a single voice. The raspy, deep, soft voice of a man. as his words echoed through the empty void of blackness, he said only this, and nothing more. "Sleep now...your time will come again..."
Legend say of an ancient temple, hidden deep within the emerald forests of Laratil Valley, holding a priceless treasure with in its stone walls. Though many have triedfind it in hopes of acheiving fame, fortine, glory...but little do such arrogant minds realize, that this nameless temple can only be found...we needed. And the one who shall recieve its pecious prize shall have their life forever changed...
"HA!" The old farmer scoffed as he sat next to his wife, patting his pot belly as he continued to laugh softly through his thick, white, bushy beird. "A fascinating story indeed, would be nice if something like that was around, we could definitely have a need for such treasure. Do you agree, my dear?" he turned to his wife, her hair, just as white and pushy, with a single curled pony tail on the back of her head. She giggled softly as she concured with her husband, "Indeed..." she then sighed, "Alas, such stories all but fantasy and nothing more..."
"It would appear that your daughter might disagree with you." the local story teller interjected, he gestured over to the young girl of 19 years of age as he said with an intuitive smirk. "Do you believe in such stories, my dear?"
The parents, the story teller, as well as a few of the other villagers that sat around a single, brightly lit fire, looked at the girl, awaiting her response.

(I'm not 19 yet. Still got about 3 weeks to go. XD But that's fine.)
"I certainly do." she said, pushing a strand of short brown hair behind her ear. "I mean.. life would be so boring without the hope of something more. Why would anyone want to do anything, why would the explorers bother to look, if it wasn't to find some kind of.. magical place like that?"

"My dear girl," her father interjected, "if there was truely something to look for in the Laratil Valley, in this small, old place, wouldnt have someone come by now?"
"Dont be so sure to dismiss the possibilities, Farmer." the story teller said, "There are many things in this world that can easily be overlooked...But lets not argue any further on the subject. It is getting late now. It would be wise to return to our homes before the Abysmals start prowling."
"Oh Gods no!" the mother gasped, "Such horrible creatures shouldnt even be mentioned..."
"Now THAT I shall agree with. Danilia(feel free to change the name if you want), please help your old man up will you...?" the father requests sincerely.

(nah, that sounds cool. :3 Do you mind if I say "I" instead of "she"? Since it is me as a character.)
"Of course, Father." she said, helping him to his feet. Already, she was planning to explore the next day after her chores were finished.

(sure)
When the next day came, it had already reach noon and the girl had already finished all of her chorse that she was set out to do. Her father, managed to catched her just before she could run off as he said to her, "Well, my daughter, what has put you in such a rush? You better not be planning to head into the Emerald Forest again?"

"Don't worry, Father." I said. "I'm just going to see my friend, Eva. It's been a while since we last talked, and I miss her." I knew it was bad to lie, but I also knew he'd never let me leave otherwise. I had to remember to stop by my friend's house and ask her to tell my father we were together in case he asked.

"Alright..." The farmer said, "But I mean it, Danilia, dont go anywhere near the Emerald Forest. Thats where the Abysmals live..." After his warning, the girl had stopped by her friends house for a moment to make her claim more believable, spending an hour or two conversing with her old friend. Fortunately, in this case, Eva said that she had to take care of some personal arins, giving Danilia the perfect opportunity to explore the forest before night fall. Once she had made it, she had forgotten how much the forest lived up to its name. The Forest was located directly at the south end of the Valley, where the single river that cuts through the valley orginates to the ocean. The trees grew vibrant, healthy leaves that were as green as emerald jewels. It was hard to believe that sich a beautiful forest was so dangerous at night.

I smiled, always amazed by how beautiful it was. I knew it was dangerous at night, I'd heard all the stories and the warnings. But, it was sure to be harmless at night. And, I'd be back home by nightfall anyway, so it hardly mattered. I walked into the forest, stepping over tree-roots and exploring my way down little pathways. I even found a rabbit hole, but after a few minutes of trying to get a rabbit to come out with no success, I moved on.

Along the way on her exploring, traveling deeper and deeper into the trees, enjoying the tranquil sounds of birds singing, and basking in the heavenly rays of the sun as they peiced through the branches like swords of light. she couldnt help but eventually feel the lingering, haunting sensation that someone, or something, was watching her from the distance...However the more she wandered into the forest, the more she realized that the path she was following had dissapeared, and she had completely lost her way. And to make matters worse...it was already sunset.

I stopped, looking around. "It's alright..." I muttered to myself. "I just have to.. go back the way I came." I turned around, then hesitated. I hadn't made any turns, right? No, I was pretty sure I'd gone relatively straight. Though, I had followed that bird for a bit. I corrected myself a bit to the left and started walking, hoping it was the right direction. I kept glancing over my shoulder, just in case.

Unfortunately, the fading light had made it difficult to recognise anything and she soon found herself running in a complete circle. Then...when she trully realized that she was lost, a loud snap of a thick branch echoed just behind her in the distance. Such a crunching sound made her skin, almost as if she was meant to hear it.

I looked back, now frightened more than ever. I started to panic and just ran straight, figuring I'd have to reach the end of the forest eventually.

As she ran through the forest, leaping over logs, and rocks, dashing through shrubs, and dodging past trees, she noticed how the sun's light was failing more and more. Also, though it wasnt vivid, she could almost hear the sound of multiple feet tropping rapidly with amazing speed. Judging from the the sound, it may have been a whole pack chasing after her. But, just as she felt like they were gaining on her, the sound suddenly stopped, like they had given up. That apparantly wasnt the only good knews she found herself stumbling into a small clearing, and there, just a few feet away from its rocky steps, was a great stone temple of sacred magesty. It looked so massive and ancient, even after centuries of moth growth and powerful vines overtaking its outer walls, it looked incredibly magnificent and more importantly, fortified.
Then...before she could stare at awe or celebrate the discovery, she heard a terrible roar that echoed through the trees, practically rumbling the very branches. Then it became clear, the original beasts that were after her were merely abandoning their prey because they sensed a bigger, more terrifying predator invading their hunt.

"Oh, no... Oh, no no no..!" Scared out of my wits, I dashed into the temple without a thought to what could possible be inside it. "Light. There's gotta be a torch or.. or something here..." I mumbled to myself, trying to search in the very dim light. The last thing I wanted was to be alone in a strange place in the pitch dark. What if there were spiders? I nearly laughed. Here I was, hiding from beasts that wanted to eat me, with any manner of terrible creatures hiding in the dark, and I was worried about spiders.

Luckily, the interior of the temple was easy enough to navigate through, even in the dark, but even though she was already deep with in the temple, she could still hear the nightmarish roars outside. This Abysmal was much more egotistical than the smaller ones, it was almost as if, this thing was trying to tell her, "Hey, I'm here! And I'm gonna eat you, and theres not a thing you can do about it!" unfortunately, even though she was already in the more enclosed spaces of the temple, the main entrance was an broadly opened entry way. So even if whatever large thing out there gave up, the smaller ones could still come after her.
However, the faint scent of oil permiated the air as she traveled deeper into the darkness, and eventually, she felt her feet scattering and kicking shards of rock, perhaps she can get that torch after all.

I continued down the enclosed space, trembling with fear. Not only the fear of being eaten by the Abysmals, but also because I was absolutely terrified of the dark. Granted, I never really told anyone and I blamed it on being worried about tripping, but I was absolutely terrified for some reason that I'd never been able to explain. Because -other than the Abysmals of course- there was nothing to be afraid of, and I was certain they weren't the cause of my fear.

Eventually after managing to make herself a torch, though the oil was so old it hardly gave enough light, at the very least she could see two feet infront of her, instead of nothing at all. However, she did notice something as she continued down the corridor. She soon found herself in a large room, seemingly empty, strange, it seemed like the perfect place to hold a great big treasure hord...but not a single coin could be found. However, there was one thing that caught her....in the very center of the room, was what appeared to be a sword. a single edged sword stabbed in a perfect vertical angle on a squared platform. It was beaituful in design, even in the dim light, its gilded hilt gleamed beautifully as its embeded jewels glinted. Even the blade itself shimmered like a clean, polished diamond.

(that looks pretty cool~ Did you draw that?)
Unable to help my curiosity, I made my was toward the sword. "Wow... It's so beautiful..." I said, reaching out to touch the blue-and-gold hilt. "Incredible..." Finally, I thought maybe I should take the sword. I mean, why not? It was just sitting here, for who knows how long. What's the worst that could happen if I took it? And besides, maybe I could try and fight off the Abysals that were after me. I'd never used a sword before, but it couldn't be too hard. I nodded, making my decision. So many good reasons to take it and not one to leave it. I left the torch on the floor and grabbed the hilt, taking it off the platform.

(I did)
With a small chink sound, the sword was easily removed from its platform, but at that moment, the jewels of the sword began to glow intensely until the sword itself erupted in a blinding flash of light that illuminated the entire room. When the light finaly faded to a much dimmer glow, what laied before her almost made Danilia drop her jaw. Though it seemed asleep, it was a giant, but strange looking crature with a broad, round face like a snake with a vague translucent fin that drapped over the side of its face as though it were a loch of hair. The rest of its body was slender and thin, for its size, with large, yet nimple hind legs, and two smaller arms that ended in strange mitten like hands that were flat like flippers. Its tail was strange as well as the end slip into two. Its color patterns reminded the girl of some kind of reptile with mutilpe shades of blue, violet, and white. Also, though she didnt know why, but the creature seemed to be wearing actual attire, around the base of her long neck appeared to be some kind of fancy brace that had a small, translucent shroud draping over its shoulders and upper back. Its wrists had golden braces as well and its theropod feet had flat golden rings around its toes.

(cool~)
I stared at it for a while, in shock. "This.. this can't be real..." I muttered finally. "I'm dreaming for sure. And.. I'm going to wake up at home, safe and sound..." I started to back away. "I just need to..." I pinched my arm, then flinched slightly as it actually hurt. "Oh, no... No no no... This can't be real..." I grabbed the torch and crouched by the wall, still holding the sword. What the hell was I supposed to do now? It was bad enough with the Ablysals outside, but now with this monster here I had nowhere safe to go. I was as good as dead.
