Hey everyone, Soulknight here. I knew I havnt been very responsive to the site, because Ive been busy and contemplating about....serious decisions for my future. But, to make up for my absence, I decided to do something fun to do.
I created this thread to have challenges, as the title suggests above, and for this challenge, its going to envolve music. Here is how the rules will go down.
You know how when you listen to a song on the radio or on a cd, or ipod, you like to imagine a scene that would connect with the music, like as if you were watching an anime or movie? Well, for this challenge, I want you to list five songs, 5 musical pieces, with no lyrics, just orchestral music. It doesnt necesarrily have to be orchestral either, just no lyrics. If you so desire, you can choose rock, electronic, classic, or other genres of music, just as long there is NO SINGING. Dont get me wrong, its not that I dont enjoy singing, its just that orchestral music would serve as a better conduit for imagination. And thats what I wat you to do, pick a musical piece and then describe to me a scene that you imagine your character being in. Sometimes singing can allow leeway for imagination, but only if the lyrics are actually relevent to your character's situation, which is harder to do whatever the singer is saying, your character is forced to play the role of whatever the lyrics tell. non-lyric music is much more open.
Now, I'll display my examples to help you understand.

Dragon Force-Fairy Tail. youtu.be/VXedWYVsIfM
This musical piece is very close to my heart because it has a lot of Celtic music mixed in with modern techno beat. With this music in play, I imagine my character Alasdair Corignis, a dragon disguised in human form. The scene begins right into the beginning of the battle. Al is standing inside of a plane's cargo hold with the door wide open as his clothing ripple and dancing in the wind sheer. Al is on a mission to save his girlfriend Mizore from the sky base of the evil Fairy Tale organization. As he leaps out of the plane, head first, dive bombing towards the base, his body engulfs in flames and bursting fourth is a giant mighty dragon, roaring at the first climax of the beginning of the song.
Fairytale's camera see the dragon attacking at are instantly scrambling jets to eliminate the threat. Then, for the next two minutes of the song is fast flying aerial battle scenes. Zooming through the narrow crevices of the base as Al destroys turret installations with volleys of fire balls and whips back around to perform mid air tail thrashing maneuvers decimate the fighter jets. As Al cries out his lover's name he crashes his way into the inner base of fairytale to continue on a rampage, defeating any and all enemies that dare o stand between him and his love. He then finally rescues Mizore and at the end of the song, it is a still shot of Al, with Mizore clenched closely to his massive chest held safely with in his claws as they fly away into the endless sky together.

El'Dorado-Two steps from Hell youtu.be/ZmLvX-oIwSI
With this piece it starts out with a fast paced fiddle, so I instantly think of an intro where one character that I have never used on this site is a man, with a deep Scottish accent, wearing a leather jacket and a small brimmed hat similar to Van helsing's in the 2004 remake movie. He walks in a scene where an innocent red haired she-demon, who serves as a well acquaintance of his, is about to executed by a high angel of heaven for faulty accusations of treason against their covenant. The man, being a mortal, attacks the angel and is caught in a one side fist fight with a full armored angel. The Angel, at first, was winning brutally as he continued to pummel the man back down to the floor every time the man tries to stand back up. But, as the song builds up for its change in pace, the man finally lands a punch, actually hurting the angel as he soon realizes that the man is more than what he seems. As the fist fight ensues, more and more, the man manages to counter the angel's moves and continues to punch, jab and strike at the Angel with a collection of swift fisted attacks. Eventually the fight completely turns to the man's favor as with every punch he makes, his form flickers more and more into an alternate shape. As the she-demon watches in awe, she realizes that this Scottish man, that was more or less of an ass to her in the past, is revealed to be an angel, or rather, a fallen angel that is regaining his power and grace steadily back. Finally, at the climax of the song, The man's form is complete as he is now a celestial angelic knight in glistening shiny armor with wings made of beautiful glowing blue light. The two angels now draw their weapons, the opposing angel, wielding a golden spear, while the man, wielded a sword that shined like a star. As the battle ensues, celestial steel clashing like thunder claps; the man eventually defeats his angelic enemy and returns to the red head she-demon to help her stand back up, cueing the end of the song.

Moontrance-Lindsey Stirling youtu.be/McLR5IOXp4s
If you don’t know who Lindsey Stirling is, then allow me to elaborate a bit about her and her career, she is a highly talented violinist that has her own channel on Youtube where collaborates her musical pieces with stunning atmospheric scenes. Her music consists of her very talented violin skills over a subtle techno beat. In Moontrance, this song makes me imagine a mystical scene with a character of mine that I also never shown on this site. A rooster anthro that bares the same name as mine, Jake, and walks into a calm, Japanese graveyard in the dead of a cold serene night. With the moon shining brightly over his wide brim black hat wearing head, the rooster pulls out a fiddle from a small case. Meanwhile, little to his awareness, a local girl that looks like a white mantis watches curiously from afar in the shrubs with in the darkness. But, it would appear that as the Rooster starts to play his melody, the spirits of the graves instantly pop out of the ground in balls of glowing blue light that burned like candle flames start to dance with the rhythm of the musician's strokes. As the music begins to fester and build, more and more spirits begin to join the party as the entire graveyard is illuminated by the light of the souls, all the meanwhile, the girl peeking through the bushes is both in shock and awe at the sight before her eyes. Eventually as the song builds for its climax, the Rooster stands on top of a cliff side overlooking the graveyard as the accumulation of souls start to swirl and fly around him in a beautiful vortex of joyful spirits. The rooster then continues his usual rhythm as he too dances along with the souls until his music was cut short when he heard the girl behind him in the shrubs stumble to the ground, exposing herself. The moment the music died, the spirits instantly returned to their graves and disappeared leaving the rooster and the mantis in an awkward moment.

Spike on the Rail-Bastion youtu.be/7eqMszMGUww
Bastion is a downloadable game for the xbox, I am not very familiar with its game play or plot, but its soundtrack is fantastic if you’re in to subtle old western acoustic guitar music. It’s nice because it instantly makes you feel like a cowboy. But in this case, it brings me back to my Rooster character where he and his partner are driving through the hot baron wastelands in bar structured car. While his partner drives, the rooster checks and modifies his gun as they prepare for the next job waiting for them in the nearest town they can find.

Birth of a Spartan-Halo Reach youtu.be/wLfOKQLkuJc
This song comes from a launch trailer for the game Halo Reach, it had very nice and well paced music that truly brought out the best mood for the scenes displayed in the advertisement. However, after hearing the music a few more times, I started to imagine a character of mine named Gabriel Cawwood and his origin story of how he died and then rose from the grave as a Deadwatcher.
In the beginning, as it starts with a subtle piano pattern, it shows a scene of the young Gabe being lowered down into his grave in a black casket. His family stands over his tombstone with bleak, sorrowful looks until finally leaving at sun down. By that time, a single crow, perched on the crooked branch of a dead tree looms over the grave as mystical forces begin their work. As night comes and the moon at its highest, a strange flocculation of wind occurs as dead leaves scatter and twirl with in the breeze. As the circling wind patterns focus on top of Gabe’s grave, they become stronger and faster as the music builds in its climax. As it does, a figure pulls itself from out of the earth, struggling to break free as the crow continues to stare silently at the phenomenon. When the wind finally dies down, so does the music but only for a moment as it transitions to a different scene where dawn was approaching over the hillside. On the top of the hill, the same crow stands alone, as if waiting for someone. At very end of the song, following in footsteps, at very last shot, it shows Gabe, dressed in red with a wide brim crimson hat, with large black feathered wings stretched out and a large scythe in his hands. There, he stands before the first light of dawn with the crow on his shoulder.
So, like I said, 5 songs, 5 descriptions of what you imagine. Please leave links for songs. If there are any lyrics in any songs, I will dismiss delete them from the list and request you replace it.
