"Okay, Mister Bunny." she said, holding his hand and following him. She stayed close, thinking that the forest seemed dark and scary. "Is it far?"

"Not at all." He replied with optimistic politeness, "Just stay close, do not stray, and no harm shall come to you." And just as he kept his word, they managed to reach the house. But something about the place was odd. It seemed empty, like any and all residence had long since abbondoned this place. However, the exterior as well as interior has been left untouched. Any vibrant colors that may have once filled the orphanage has been drained dry, leaving nothing but shades of dull grey. Never the less, it was a far more promised refuge than remaining outside with the "wolves" on the prowl.

Sarah stayed as close as she could to the man, not liking the creepy atmosphere in the orphanage. "It's scary here..." she said quietly. "When are we gonna go find Mommy?"

"Once we have escaped this forest." He lead her inside with a gentle hand like a proper gentlemen. After shutting the door behind them, another hellish howl could be heard from the distant black trees.
The stranger seemed genuinely kind, but there was an ominous suspicion that he knew more than he was letting on.

"Where is this place..?" she asked quietly, looking around. "The only forest by my house is by the.. uhm... the highway... Why'm I so far from home..?"

The masked man did not reply initially, instead, he first helped her find a place to sit down. There was a comfortable lounge chair that was soft and warm, but its lack of vibrant colors, just as everything else in this place, left it to be truly relaxing as it couldve been.
"Young miss," he began to say as he sat in a similar chair beside her, they found themselvs sitting infront of a dead fireplace that had been long since lit, "Forgive me for changing topic, but I need to ask you a very important question myself. Has your mother ever told you stories of a wolrd where people go to when they...shall we say fall into a deep sleep?"

"You mean when people die, like Grandma did?" she asked innocently. "Well, yea. Mommy says they go up to Heaven. And it's a nice place where everyone is happy and nobody gets hurt or sick."

"Your mother is a bright woman." he replies politely, "However, there is more to the story than what your mother may have told you." With a snap of his white gloved fingers, a ball of blue fire suddenly flared with in the fire place. Its saphire flames were warm and soothing, as the light granted some actual color to compliment the room.

Sarah gasped, gazing in awe at the strange sapphire flames. "You're magic..." she said, turning to him.

The stranger chuckled, "You could say that...but I'm not here to show you tricks, my dear. I'm here to tell you a story. Would you indulge in this humble gentleman's tale?"

Sarah nodded, smiling sweetly. "Sure." she said. "I like stories."
